Role: Social Worker – Adult Social Care
Salary: Grade J (Newly Qualified) £32,621 - £36,072 a year actual salary (£40,777 - £45,091 a year full time equivalent). Grade K £36,913 - £39,425 a year actual salary (£46,142 - £49,282 a year full time equivalent)
Location: Council House
Hours: 29.6 hours a week (4 days)

Derby City Council is an innovative and forward thinking Council, committed to developing more practical and proportionate ways of undertaking adult social care assessments, support planning and interventions to enable the residents of Derby to live full and active lives.
An exciting opportunity has arisen enabling the recruitment of a part time Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team. The worker will carry out social care assessments and support customers to create individualised support plans to meet their identified needs. The successful candidate will be working with a wide range of customers aged 18 and over including individuals with Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health needs and Older People.
You will be a qualified Social Worker with an active registration with Social Work England, applications without this will be discounted. You will need to have excellent communication and listening skills, with the confidence and ability to negotiate and challenge appropriately. You will need to have a detailed understanding of the Care Act and be able to implement an asset based approach to your work. You will be able to work and manage a case load independently and also work as part of a team.
