Job Introduction
Female Support WorkerPay rate: £13.91 per hour flat rate Shift Pattern:
Term time - 6.45am – 9.15am, 6.45am - 19.00pm, 14.15pm – 17.30pm
Non term time - Monday – Friday - 7:00am – 17.30pm & Every second Saturday 7:00am – 17.30pm.
We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a kind, sociable, caring person to begin working within a established, supportive team caring for a 23 year old fun loving, sociable lady who adores accessing the community and attending a special needs college with her support worker. Excellent communication is essential as the young lady is non verbal but is able to express herself very well, and she can communicate her needs and wishes in her own way. You will also support with respite visits which include overnights and full days with another team member, During respite, activities can include supporting with days out, hydrotherapy, visits to local attractions amongst other fun things. You will also support on days out and hospital visits with family when needed. There is a well trained lovely dog within the family home. Experience with complex care preferred but all training will be given by a registered nurse dedicated to the package.
Shift pattern – Days, sleeping nights and weekends
Requirements – UK drivers license & own vehicle
Key responsibilities:
Gastrostomy care
Moving and handling
Personal cares
Cough assist and suction
Nebulisers and medication administration
What will your shift involve?
In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a mixture of 2:1 & 1:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include engaging with them in meaningful activities and taking them out in the community to promote their social interaction and well-being. Additionally, you will support with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment that fosters comfort and independence. Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner will be essential to building a strong and trusting relationship.
