How You'll Make a Difference
As a Project Manager in the Transformation team, you will join a high‑performing and supportive environment, playing a key role in leading transformational change across council services. In leading and managing key projects across the council, you will scope and deliver a range of change initiatives in varied service areas. It will be your responsibility to support the development and implementation of ambitious, complex and multi‑faced transformation projects, incorporating system redesign and implementation, organisational improvement, behaviour change and delivery of savings.
What You Will Be Doing
* Drive change across the council, improving outcomes for service users, delivering value for money services and stimulating innovation with significant benefits to residents and businesses.
* Use a flexible approach to develop, lead, manage and implement a range of complex and innovative projects across the council.
* Provide sound expertise, advice and information, research and analyse opportunities for innovation to establish efficient and effective ways of working, ensuring council activity is lawful.
* Adopt a matrix‑management approach, motivating team members to maintain a highly competent, creative and participative culture.
* Manage, review and resolve any issues related to budgets, financial information and resources so that agreed targets are met, reports are prepared and delivered and council resources are used efficiently, ensuring value for money.
What We Need From You
* Hold a relevant project‑management professional qualification, degree or equivalent specialist qualification.
* Demonstrate experience of project management and delivery, including public and stakeholder engagement and risk management.
* Have detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice, alongside knowledge of research, development and evaluation techniques, and maintain current knowledge of trends, approaches and methodologies.
* Think strategically, innovate, problem‑solve, adapt and bring creativity into project delivery.
* Collaborate and communicate with colleagues across the organisation, including senior officers, elected members and a range of external stakeholders.
* Manage and develop a team or several smaller teams, ensuring all members are valued and understand their contribution to the council.
