Crane Operation:

Operate electric overhead cranes via pendant controls, radio remote, or cabin.
*
Lift/transport loads (e.g., steel coils, machinery, containers) with precision.

Safety Compliance:
*
Conduct pre-operational checks (brakes, hooks, wires, limit switches).
*
Follow LOLER 1998 (Lifting Operations Regulations) and PUWER 1998 (Equipment Safety).
*
Adhere to site-specific rules (e.g., exclusion zones, wind speed limits).
3.
Load Management:
*
Verify load weights and ensure they fall within crane capacity.
*
Secure loads using slings/chains under slinger/signaller guidance.
4.
Communication:
*
Coordinate with slingers/signallers using BS 7121 hand signals or radios.
*
Report equipment defects or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
5.
Documentation:
*
Log lift details, safety checks, and incidents.
*
Complete daily inspection reports.
6.
Maintenance Support:
*
Assist engineers with basic maintenance (lubrication, minor repairs)
