Company and Role Overview Origo is a forward-thinking, growing Fintech company with a 30 year history and a mission to connect the Financial Services industry. The Development team is responsible for building and maintaining Origo’s expanding number of services. The team is currently looking for an experienced C# developer (ideally with some experience of JavaScript and / or TypeScript) who can contribute to the continued success of our existing and future services. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables The successful applicant must possess relevant and demonstrable experience in the following areas: Develop, maintain and enhance web-based applications while adhering to company quality standards. Develop high quality, fit-for-purpose code that meets the business, architectural and security requirements. Design and conduct unit test plans to ensure high quality levels. Create and maintain development artefacts and documentation for existing services. Create detailed technical and design specifications in response to new business concepts/ outline specifications. Provide accurate estimates for all development activities to assist the Technical Leads with estimating project costs/timescales. Assist in the delivery of all development activities to the budget, timescales and quality criteria of the relevant development project or maintenance release through the complete project life cycle (and during the post release warranty period). Ensure ongoing awareness of current and emerging technologies and suggest how these could be introduced to benefit the company. Be able to research and implement new technologies from scratch to undertake Proof of Concept (PoC) type activities. Provide technical support for test and production issues and be able to interact with external customers. Essential Skills and Experience The successful applicant must have at least 5 years of experience in the following technical areas: AWS (or significant experience in another cloud provider or platform) C# and .NET 8 (or above) ASP.NET SQL Server RESTful API development JavaScript and/or TypeScript (preferably using React) HTML & CSS Desirable Skills and Experience Although not essential, additional skills/experience in any of the following areas are also beneficial: Technical: DynamoDB, Aurora, AWS Lambda Terraform OpenAPI, JSON Schema React, NextJS Web tooling (e.g., webpack, Vite, esbuild) CI / CD configuration (preferably with Azure Pipelines) Object Relational Mapping (e.g., EF Core) Unit Testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit) x509 certificates OAuth / OIDC Non-technical: Experience in the Financial Services industry is desirable – preferably with a working knowledge of the Life and Pensions and / or Fund Management sectors.
