Are you excited by solving complex engineering challenges and delivering work where precision, safety and purpose truly matter? Do you want to be part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team that plays a critical role in safely delivering construction, de‑planting and demolition solutions in a regulated environment?
This is your opportunity to join a motivated project engineering team working across mechanical, electrical, civil/structural and safety case disciplines. You’ll contribute to the delivery of fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions that underpin a demanding portfolio of work, bringing energy, structure and focus to challenging schedules while helping to further strengthen the capability of an already high‑performing team.
What Will You Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in translating project objectives and stakeholder needs into practical, robust engineering solutions. From early concept design through to handover, you’ll manage and coordinate engineering activities to ensure solutions are safe, compliant and deliverable, aligned with design authority standards and regulatory requirements.
Working across the full project lifecycle, you’ll take accountability for design development, technical assurance and configuration control, while providing engineering leadership during commissioning, decommissioning or modification activities. You’ll also actively contribute to learning and continuous improvement by reviewing events and embedding best practice across the team.
* Developing fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions and technical specifications that meet project and stakeholder requirements
* Managing design activities and plant modifications in line with CDM regulations and acting as a Nominated Responsible Engineer where required
* Providing technical oversight during commissioning and decommissioning, ensuring safe implementation and effective handover to operations
* Maintaining configuration control and promoting learning through review of events and continuous improvement initiatives
Who Are We Looking For
You’re a driven, delivery‑focused engineer who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You’re comfortable managing demanding schedules and balancing technical quality with practical delivery, and you bring a strong appreciation of safety, governance and compliance in regulated industries.
To succeed, you’ll hold an HNC, engineering degree or NQF Level 5/6 qualification and have experience delivering project engineering work in nuclear and/or conventional environments. A solid understanding of relevant engineering standards is essential, along with the confidence to engage with multiple stakeholders and disciplines. Experience of CDM Designer responsibilities, safety rules, risk assessment methodologies and end‑to‑end project delivery is desirable and will support your continued development within the role.
* Proven engineering experience within a nuclear or similarly regulated sector
* Strong technical judgement with an ability to manage complex engineering deliverables
* A proactive, enthusiastic mindset with the drive to continuously improve and build team capability
