About The Role
Position: Assistant Farm Manager – Marchington site. The role is farm-based, working in a farming environment that can be noisy. Farms are modern and hygiene is of utmost importance. This is an inclusive, forward-thinking business investing in farm management across Avara Foods.

Hours of Work
Monday to Sunday, 6 days a week, 07:30 – 16:00
Responsibilities
* Maintain optimum environmental conditions to ensure bird welfare and biosecurity
* Complete feeding, vaccinating and grading of the birds
* Ensure site maintenance and Avara Foods standards are met
* Supervise staff and third parties on site, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety procedures
* Comply with legislative and assurance scheme standards
* Maintain accurate records as required by Avara Foods and UK legislation (goods and services received, generator, alarm logs, crop records, medication register, accident book, etc.)
* Operate the farm within effective cost management parameters
* Maintain high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and husbandry
* Work on other farm sites as needed
* Cover in the Farm Manager’s absence
* Report to the Farm Manager
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
* Own transport is essential; travel to different sites may be required
* Previous livestock experience; poultry experience not required but helpful
* NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Poultry production or similar Agriculture qualification is desirable but training will be provided
* Effective communication and people skills
* Willingness to learn and self-motivation
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and perform manual duties
* Basic IT skills
