Data and Research Analyst /Senior Analyst 1 x Permanent role and 1 x Part time (17.5 hours) fixed term contract till January 2028 £36,000-£44,000 (Pro-rata for part time) plus benefits Reports to: Data Analysis and Research Manager Grade: P2 Directorate : Policy, Information and Communications Contract : Permanent and Part time FTC Hours: Full time 35 hours per week/Part-time role 17.5 hours per week Location: Stratford, London. For more information on the type of projects click this link What you'll be doing You'll be part of a collaborative, expert team delivering trusted cancer intelligence to colleagues, partners, policymakers and the public. With support from experienced Analysts and Managers, you'll: Deliver meaningful analysis Work on carefully designed analytical projects, exploring cancer data and research to uncover trends, insights and opportunities that matter. Bring data to life Translate complex statistical findings into compelling, accessible outputs from presentations and reports to blogs, web content and peer reviewed publications. Grow your expertise Build specialist knowledge in areas like cancer survival, screening, or emerging approaches such as AI and interactive tools like R Shiny. Be a trusted source of evidence Respond to enquiries and guide others in the accurate, responsible use of cancer statistics and evidence. Create impact beyond the team Contribute to media facing content, helping shape how cancer stories are told through press releases, infographics and public facing insights. Innovate with data Help explore new tools, techniques and technologies to improve how we collect, analyse and communicate cancer intelligence. Empower others through knowledge Support training and capability-building across CRUK so more teams can confidently use cancer data. What we're looking for We're looking for someone curious, analytical and motivated by impact, someone who wants their work to make a real difference. You'll bring: Strong analytical and interpretation skills, ideally within health, science or cancer-related contexts Experience using statistical tools (such as R, STATA or SAS), and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly The ability to communicate complex information clearly to different audiences Excellent attention to detail, with confidence quality-checking data and written outputs Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines Why this role matters Cancer Intelligence sits at the heart of Cancer Research UK - shaping how we understand cancer today and how we beat it tomorrow. Internal Eligibility criteria Internal candidates should ideally have completed their 6-month 'getting started' period before applying for other roles. You should also advise your current line manager at the point you make an internal application, or at the latest, at the point of being invited for an interview.
