Join to apply for the eCommerce Trading Manager - 6 Month FTC role at Next.
Job Description
We’re looking for an eCommerce Trading Manager to join our growing eCommerce team at NEXT and take the lead in driving the Seraphine brand forward! Based at Head Office in Leicestershire, offering a competitive salary alongside great benefits. This position is a 6‑month FTC.
At NEXT, we are one of the UK’s largest fashion retailers and a listed company, selling our products and thousands of world‑famous brands, both in‑store and online UK and internationally. We are growing quickly and investing in our business.
The UK Trading team fuels UK growth by optimising online product sales on Next.co.uk across Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear and Home. They drive exciting product launches and strategic promotions to maximise sales and brand visibility.
About the Role
As an eCommerce Trading Manager for Seraphine, you will manage the brand like a business in its own right – driving forward trading, marketing and all other touch points across eCommerce teams. You are the key brand advocate within the Next eCommerce team and help set the direction for optimising Seraphine performance and driving incremental sales growth through commercial and product knowledge.
Responsibilities
* Working closely with the Brand business owner to set and deliver strategy, continually reviewing key online metrics, sales and customer insight to drive decision making and priorities.
* Creating and executing marketing plans both on and off‑site, in collaboration with product teams and cross‑functional teams across the eCommerce department.
* Being immersed in the Seraphine customer mindset. Establishing trends, reviewing purchase behaviour and identifying opportunities for enhancements across Marketing, Search & Navigation and Product pages. This includes both small, yet incremental changes, as well as concepts for wider‑scale innovations, leveraging strong e‑commerce expertise.
* Utilising a variety of eCommerce platforms to directly manage onsite elements such as search banners, SEO copy, landing pages, attribution, and product boosting.
* Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as the key point of contact for Seraphine’s online presence.
* Confidently presenting weekly sales performance updates and in‑week insights as well as regular updates on wider e‑commerce developments.
* Staying updated with key Brand moments and product launches, maximising opportunities for success using your strong commercial knowledge.
About You
We’re looking for someone with the following:
* Proven eCommerce Trading experience, ideally within retail but not essential.
* Analytical and comfortable with large volumes of data.
* A passion for delivering an exceptional shopping experience and a customer‑centric mindset.
* Experience in collaborating with cross‑functional teams and managing strong working relationships.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* Strong understanding of analytics, user behaviour, and eCommerce trends.
* Ability to be both analytical and creative, ensuring our decisions are always commercial.
* Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Proficiency in using eCommerce platforms and analytics tools.
