Overview
A great opportunity for a qualified electrician looking for stable, long‑term work on one site. HMP Kirkham is a Category D open prison, offering a calmer, more predictable working environment and well‑planned maintenance work.
Responsibilities
* Planned and preventative electrical maintenance
* Fault finding and repairs
* Minor works, inspections and testing to BS7671
* Ensuring electrical systems are safe and compliant
Requirements
* Level 2 Electrical qualification
* 18th Edition (17th considered with upskilling)
* Good knowledge of electrical maintenance and H&S
* Ability to work independently
Hours
* 39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 08:00‑17:00; Friday to Sunday 08:00‑16:00
* 1 in 3 weekends (paid at +15%)
Clearances
Prison security clearance and Standard DBS required – fully supported by Amey.
