Job Title: Temporary Occupational Health Advisor
The Temporary Occupational Health Advisor resides within the Wellbeing Team and plays a vital role in the overall wellbeing service. This role supports the Occupational Health Unit by managing management referrals across the force. Working remotely, the advisor will ensure individuals access support to encourage attendance at work, manage risks, and provide guidance to managers for a sustainable workforce.

Education & Experience:
* Professionally qualified in Occupational Health Nursing (Degree or Diploma, postgraduate qualification).
* Knowledge of health and wellbeing issues facing Policing.
* Proven ability to manage a challenging workload.
* Understanding of professional regulatory frameworks relevant to SYP occupational health services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct telephone consultations and manage complex caseloads, maintaining objectivity and impartiality according to occupational health guidance.
* Provide evidence-based occupational health advice to support employees and management.
* Prepare concise reports on employee fitness to work, including recommendations and timeframes.
* Use a bio-psychosocial approach and functional assessments to address work barriers and inform recommendations.
* Obtain specialist reports and liaise with healthcare professionals to support employee rehabilitation and return to work plans.
* Deliver pre-employment and mandatory medical assessments, advising on fitness for work and workplace adjustments, ensuring timely completion.
