Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust
We are seeking a compassionate, innovative, and enthusiastic Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join our 'Outstanding' community Children's and Young People's Specialist services. You would join a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team and be involved in shaping psychological provision within our Neurodevelopmental Service (NDS).
Full-time hours (37.5 hours), or a minimum of 30 hours per week, are available across Norfolk, including Kings Lynn and Norwich. Bases are negotiable, and flexible working, including agile/home working where relevant, is supported.
The NDS offers diagnostic assessments and post-diagnostic workshops to support children and young people with suspected Neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and ASD.
This is a fixed-term post for 12 months, or secondment with line manager approval.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include assessment, formulation, post-diagnostic group interventions, and service development. This involves direct and indirect work with children, young people, their families, and professional networks.
You will provide psychological consultation to the clinical team and external agencies, with opportunities to develop leadership skills and contribute to supervision, teaching, and training of psychological practitioners and other professionals.
You will utilize research skills for audit, policy, service development, and dissemination of evidence. Further research involvement can be supported as needed.
Our supportive team values innovation, development, and is committed to improving the lives of children and young people. We are a forward-thinking, neuro-inclusive team with opportunities to liaise with other psychologists within the Trust. The Psychology Team offers excellent CPD, research, and teaching opportunities, with close links to the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology at the University of East Anglia.
