Provides personal care and related services according to an established care plan, ensuring patient comfort and needs are met at home.
Essential Functions
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including:
* Personal hygiene (bathing, mouth, skin, hair care)
* Ambulation
* Eating
* Dressing
* Meal preparation
Perform patient-specific activities as instructed by a nurse, such as:
* Reinforcing dressings
* Assisting with prescribed exercises
* Preparing special diets
Perform homemaking tasks like vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
* At least 6 months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare
* Successful completion of a competency evaluation per state law
* CPR certification recommended
* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
* Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
* 30-40 hours of basic care training required
