Job overview
As an Experienced Manufacturing Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive health and safety program at our manufacturing facility. Your role will ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, mitigate risks, and foster a proactive safety culture within our teams. This position is ideal for a candidate with extensive experience in health and safety, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
* Implement and manage safety policies to ensure compliance with regulations, overseeing manufacturing equipment and systems to maintain safety standards.
* Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards, staying updated on safety legislation, and managing relationships with external auditors.
* Investigate accidents and near-misses, address root causes, and maintain accurate records, reporting findings to management.
* Develop and deliver safety training for employees, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety awareness across all teams.
* Maintain and update emergency response plans, leading emergency drills to ensure readiness for any incidents.
* Track safety performance, provide regular reports to management, and identify areas for improvement, implementing initiatives to enhance safety outcomes.
Qualifications & experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial health and safety role within a manufacturing environment.
* NEBOSH Diploma preferred, or equivalent industry experience with IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
* Experience conducting risk assessments and developing/reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements).
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance.
