My client is an award-winning advice firm with offices in Norfolk and Suffolk, established for over 35 years. Their Bury St. Edmunds-based team is looking for a Technical Financial Planning Administrator (Paraplanner) to join their team of successful Financial Planning Support professionals. Purpose of the role
To provide high-quality technical support across the team, enabling Financial Planners and Directors to deliver a consistent, high-level service to clients. The role involves supporting an individual Financial Planner or multiple FPs, helping to maintain and develop client services, and supporting junior team members to enhance team efficiency.
Key responsibilities
1. Deliver proactive, high-quality support to Financial Planners and Directors, assisting with technical problem solving as needed.
2. Check complex policy analyses and perform detailed calculations for clients.
3. Liaise with clients, handle their queries, and ensure all correspondence is clear and accurate.
4. Prepare for and attend client meetings, supporting Financial Planners by presenting parts of the meeting such as cashflow or CGT calculations, with prior approval.
5. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss cases, legislative changes, and service improvements.
6. Contribute to developing team procedures and ensure internal systems and processes are followed consistently.
7. Support and develop junior team members to undertake tasks that benefit the team and clients.
8. Identify and escalate serious issues or system errors to your line manager, handling day-to-day issues autonomously.
9. Provide technical training and support personal development and learning.
10. Maintain and update your personal development records.
11. Engage in project activities to implement recommended changes and promote best practices, including client-facing documents.
