Your new role
Birmingham City Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Housing Officer to support the delivery of high-quality housing management services across ourmunities.Working as part of a busy housing team, you will play a key role in supporting tenants, maintaining strongmunity relationships, and ensuring our housing services are delivered efficiently andpassionately. You will act as a first point of contact for tenant enquiries, providing advice and resolving issues promptly while supporting Housing Officers in managing tenancies, including sign-ups, changes, and terminations. The role involves assisting with the investigation and resolution of anti-social behaviour cases, carrying out estate inspections to identify maintenance or environmental concerns, and liaising with internal departments and external partners to ensure effective service delivery. You will also maintain accurate records using housing management systems, support rent management activities, and signpost tenants to appropriate financial support where needed.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in localmunities and delivering excellent customer service. You will have experience in a customer service, housing, ormunity-focused role, along with strongmunication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively, demonstrating a proactive and problem-solving approach.
