The Role Responsibilities As the Portfolio Manager - Capital Transformation, you will play a crucial role in managing and delivering the capital transformation portfolio, ensuring the successful implementation of key projects and initiatives that drive organisational change and improve service delivery. You will be responsible for: Leading the identification, prioritisation, and scoping of capital transformation projects, working collaboratively with service leads and stakeholders. Ensuring effective project governance, including the establishment of project boards, reporting mechanisms, and risk management processes. Monitoring and reporting on the progress, risks, and issues of capital transformation projects to the Service Director and relevant committees. Providing expert advice and guidance to project managers and teams to ensure successful project delivery. Conducting regular reviews and evaluations of projects to assess outcomes and identify lessons learned. Collaborating with other portfolio managers to ensure effective resource allocation and interdependencies management. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: Extensive experience in portfolio, programme, and project management within a complex organisational environment. Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering transformation projects, ideally within a local authority or public sector context. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate project teams to achieve ambitious goals. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders, elected members, and external partners. Sound financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. Proficient in using project management tools and software to track progress and report on outcomes.
