Academy Youth Coaching Opportunities
PRELUDE STATEMENT
Opportunities have arisen within St Johnstone FC football academy. The club is seeking highly motivated, skilled, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Youth Academy Coaching team. Appointments are part-time and involve working with young players aged U10 – U12.
Based at our academy facility at McDiarmid Park, Perth, you will play a key role in the coaching programme, including planning and delivering coaching sessions in line with the Club’s coaching philosophy and player development frameworks.
The individual must provide excellent service to young people and parents and demonstrate commitment to professional development within the role.
Previous experience in an academy setting is preferred. Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to create a safe and confident learning environment for young players.
Minimum qualifications required include the SFA Club Academy Scotland (CAS) Advanced Children’s Licence (ACL). Successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure Scotland check.

Salary: Dependant on experience and qualifications.
Purpose of Job:
Support and implement the coaching curriculum established by the Head of Children’s Programme, Head of Youth Programme, and Head of Academy. Deliver effective and innovative sessions aligned with the club’s philosophy. Focus on developing young players to progress into the Youth Academy.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide age-appropriate coaching for assigned groups.
* Produce bi-monthly reports on players’ development for the Head of Children’s Programme.
* Maintain attendance and coaching records, updating the database weekly.
* Build strong relationships with academy staff and parents/guardians.
* Promote healthy lifestyles, diet, drug awareness, education, and conduct among young players.
* Participate in CAS game team selection.
* Attend all SJFC Academy in-service days and coaching courses as directed.
* Ensure a safe training environment.
Maintain up-to-date CPD for relevant licenses and adhere to club policies including Safeguarding, Equality, and Health & Safety. Perform other duties as required within capabilities.
