The Cadillac Formula 1 Team is looking for a meticulous and forward-thinking Inventory Accountant to take ownership of inventory operations and ensure financial precision at the highest level of motorsport. In this role you will safeguard the integrity of race‑critical inventory, uphold cost cap compliance, and deliver insights that directly influence performance on and off the track.
Month‑End Close & Financial Control
* Lead pre‑close validation, journal postings, and reconciliation of inventory to GL accounts with absolute accuracy.
* Prepare and review Balance Sheet reconciliations, delivering clear and actionable variance analysis.
* Ensure inventory expenses and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting fully align with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Inventory Control & Compliance
* Execute physical inventory counts and rigorous internal control testing.
* Proactively monitor inventory accuracy, identifying and resolving costing discrepancies before they impact performance.
Systems & Data Integrity
* Validate and optimise IFS system controls to maintain robust financial governance.
* Manage and refine overhead absorption rates to ensure precise costing.
Planning & Performance Insight
* Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and detailed costing analysis to support strategic decisions.
* Partner closely with Finance Business Partners to align inventory data with broader financial performance.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
* Build strong cross‑functional relationships across engineering, operations, and finance.
* Drive process enhancements, bringing innovative ideas to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control.
* Stay ahead of industry developments, ensuring best practices are embedded into operations.
Requirements
* Professionally qualified (CIMA, ICAEW, or ACCA) with post‑qualification experience.
* Proven background in inventory or cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong technical understanding of inventory valuation and financial controls.
* Experience with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or Oracle.
* Exceptional analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
* Clear and confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively across functions.
