Overview

At Mill Street, we provide emergency accommodation for up to 12 individuals experiencing homelessness. As part of our team, you\'ll play a vital role in their journey toward independence. This is an exciting opportunity where no two days are the same and your influence is key. You will support people to develop the skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to develop the skills to settle in the community and achieve positive progression. It is essential that the successful candidate is IT literate, as we use systems to record customers\' support plans and operate the service effectively.


Responsibilities

* Engage with and support residents in their personal goals
* Deliver workshops on tenancy management and health & wellbeing
* Organise meaningful activities to aid progression
* Support residents to attend appointments and activities that are part of their support plan
* Maintain the scheme\'s health & safety standards
* Adapt your approach to meet complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse, and offending behaviour
* Work safely when lone working, following safeguarding protocols
* Manage crisis situations, using de-escalation skills and accessing on-call support when required


Requirements / Qualifications

* Dedicated Scheme Support Officer with a commitment to helping residents achieve independence
* Experience in housing, supported accommodation or similar settings is desirable
* IT literate; able to use systems to record support plans and service records
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential
* Enhanced DBS check (paid for by us)
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with resilience and adaptability
* Willingness to work shifts covering 24/7 with a rolling rota (day shifts, weekends and waking nights)
