An exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of partner organisations and community groups across the Chew Valley landscape to protect and deliver positive and long-lasting change for the natural environment.

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to support and strengthen the ongoing work of the existing Chew Valley Reconnected Partnership.

About the Role

This role is based within the Council’s Sustainable Places and Regeneration Team and will involve close working with the Climate and Nature Team and their Partnerships Delivery Manager.

The Chew Valley Reconnected Partnership is co-developing a Nature Recovery Investment Programme for the catchment. The Programme will have a strong focus on:

* Delivering nature recovery benefits, such as enhanced wildlife connectivity and landscape restoration measures, delivering new and restored grassland; trees, hedgerows and woodland; and river/wetland habitat to support a range of target species and plants.
* Supporting and delivering climate resilience and adaptation measures, such as sustainable water management to deliver a range of nature-based interventions and solutions to benefit the catchment.
* Enhancing public access to and engagement with the local landscape and nature within the Valley, focussing on working with and supporting communities and groups to enable positive action, including an expanding Keynsham as the principal settlement.

About You

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated person with experience and an interest in the natural environment and its links to health and well-being. Ideally, the post holder will also have experience of nature recovery, green infrastructure, landscape design, transport and community engagement focused project delivery. The role is multi-facetted, and the post holder will have responsibility for developing and delivering partnership projects, including project management, budgeting, reporting to funders, writing reports for senior managers and members, developing and delivering communication plans, including community engagement.

It is expected that you will possess proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills including writing and editing skills, the ability to ensure milestones and deliverables are delivered on time, to a high quality.

Specifically, the candidate will be required to:

* Support the development of a new generation of catchment-scale projects, demonstrating the council’s strong commitment to nature’s recovery and climate change mitigation and adaptation, enabling the projects to also deliver improvements to people’s lives; knowledge and experience of business case development are key elements of the role.
* Demonstrate and apply strong communication skills and have experience of working in partnership, be proactive with engaging a wide range of external stakeholders/community groups and have experience of managing consultation processes.
* Have experience in successful project delivery of capital projects for green infrastructure, climate resilience/adaptation and public realm focussed schemes; with the proven ability in delivering complex projects, writing funding bids, tender briefs, managing consultants, and overseeing consultation events using expertise, initiative, and judgement.
* Work with and engage senior council officers, internal staff and elected members to strategically align the partnership projects and programme with B&NES emerging Local Plan and relevant strategies and programmes.
* Review relevant data and evidence to support partnership-led discussions and the co-development of a Catchment Monitoring Programme over the next 10 years. Ensuring that all projects and decisions are evidence-led and align with the emerging research and pilots being developed by the relevant Universities.
