We're seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Facilities Engineer to lead the oversight and management of our Stockport based site. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant facilities that support high-performance production environments.
You'll be responsible for developing a forward-looking facilities strategy, managing capital projects, leading a skilled team, and driving continuous improvement across infrastructure and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a 3-year rolling facilities plan aligned with business goals
Lead capital planning, budgeting, and execution of facility upgrades
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance compliance
Oversee daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing facilities
Support production teams to minimise downtime
Ensure compliance with defence industry safety and security standards
Support training and development of facilities and maintenance staff
Monitor operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
Implement preventive maintenance and emergency response plans
Liaise with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders
Conduct inspections and risk assessments to mitigate hazards
Prepare RFQs, conduct contract reviews, and manage risk
Manage contractor control processes including RAMS and PTW
Ensure statutory HSE compliance aligned with ACOPs and best practices
Qualifications & Experience
HND/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent)
Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., LOTO, PUWER)
Occupational Health and Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA)
Proven experience delivering capital expenditure programmes
Practical experience with CMMS systems and contractor control
Understanding of safe contractor management practices
