Communications Business Partner
Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Communications Business Partner is the senior relationship manager for all communications and media issues for the council's children's services directorate.
They design and deliver a proactive strategic communications programme and oversee and coordinate proactive and reactive operational communications for the directorate. This includes managing and allocating communications resources, including employees, agency workers, consultants and other contractors and suppliers.

About the role
As Communications Business Partner, you will be the senior strategic communications professional lead and relationship manager for all communications and media issues for the children's services directorate.
Your wide and varied portfolio will include projects, campaigns and stories to support the priorities of our education, child safeguarding and protection and children's social care services.
You will design and deliver a proactive, strategic communications programme and oversee and coordinate proactive and reactive operational communications for the directorate. You will be responsible for managing and allocating resources, including employees, agency workers, consultants, and other contractors. You will be passionate and skilled in leading creative, evidence-based, audience-led, outcome-focused comms. You will be politically aware and be able to maximise your messages through a wide range of media.
You will will work with senior officers, councillors, and partners to support the council's children's services with communications insight and expertise. You will line manage a small team and work as part of the communications and media leadership team, reporting to the Head of Communications.
The role is incredibly varied and rewarding. You will be making a real difference to children and families in the borough with no two days the same.
