Overview

THG acquired Acheson & Acheson in 2018 to bring full‑service, product development & manufacturing in‑house to supply innovative branded and THG Beauty Brand products to the industry. In 2022 Acheson & Acheson became THG Labs. Their capabilities include:

* In‑house market knowledge & trends
* End‑to‑end service from idea generation through to manufacturing and launch
* Technical, commercial and production expertise


Key Responsibilities

* Report to the Commercial Director and progress product development and brand growth throughout the brand/product life cycle.
* Lead, manage and develop an efficient, motivated team; ensure implementation of company systems, procedures and processes; conduct appraisals in line with policy and identify improvement opportunities.
* Set financial targets, margins and budgets; make informed commercial decisions based on supplier negotiations.
* Oversee sales pricing in Sage, customer liabilities and approvals related to NPD costing.
* Identify and deliver cost‑saving opportunities and support contract creation with the Commercial Director.
* Manage customer relationships, communicate strategic direction, pricing reviews and ensure expectations are met.
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers; collaborate with Purchasing & Packaging for effective sourcing.
* Lead post‑launch reviews and key meetings to ensure smooth cross‑team alignment.
* Provide direction on business system development, approve commercial system/reporting requirements and use AI to enhance processes.
* Resolve production issues through cost engineering and support efficient S&OP processes.
* Oversee recruitment and make final hiring decisions for the Commercial team.
* Develop and train the Commercial Assistant and model professional behaviour to promote a positive working environment.
* Proactively identify business opportunities and needs.
* Communicate positively across teams and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing Commercial function.


Qualifications

* Proven experience in commercial management and product life‑cycle oversight.
* Experience leading and developing teams, including recruitment and performance management.
* Strong background in customer, supplier and manufacturer relationship management.
* Experience managing financial targets, budgets and pricing processes (including use of Sage).
* Skilled in cross‑functional collaboration and meeting leadership.
* Competent in system/process improvement and use of AI for continuous improvement.
