We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of improvement activities and support site-wide projects
* Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily activity planning and work prioritization
* Maintain records within the site maintenance system (Calibrations/Inspections/Breakdowns/Repairs, etc.)
* Evaluate the quantity and availability of spare parts required to be in stock
* Identify and propose subcontractors and suppliers, and assist in the development of requests for quotes
* Deliver fast, effective electrical/mechanical fault finding by investigating root causes and implementing preventative solutions
* Ensure all corrective maintenance actions are carried out accurately and constructively
* Ensure that all consumed parts are booked out correctly and recorded as necessary
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
* Practice continuous improvement, innovation, and proactiveness for improved ways of working, offering possible solutions to encountered problems
Requirements:
* Education: Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Time-served fully indentured modern apprenticeship
* HND / Foundation Degree in Engineering
* Relevant IOSH Safety Training
Experience:
* Significant experience within manufacturing and maintenance environments, such as FMCG, or other modern industrial sectors. Applicants with a hands-on maintenance background, such as a fully indentured modern apprenticeship, would be advantageous
* Good hands-on knowledge of electronic, electrical, and PLC control systems
* Experience with pneumatic systems; air rams, solenoids, and pressure sensors
* Knowledge of ATEX-rated areas is a plus
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
* Ability to interpret electrical drawings
* Knowledge of health and safety standards and conducting risk assessments
* Good organizational and decision-making skills
* Ability to make quick, accurate decisions
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable
* Strong attention to detail
* Forward-thinking attitude
* Willingness to pursue ongoing training
* IT literate (capable of inputting work and times into maintenance systems)
