Job Description
We are recruiting a fixed-term role, up to 2 years, for someone with experience of working in or regulating energy sectors, including combustion plants, waste incineration and refineries.
You’ll need to:
* provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance, and training
* develop strategy for our sectors and produce the tools to regulate, support development and deliver environmental outcomes
* commission and manage external research projects where needed
* work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations and other key industry players
Responding to incidents is a central part of the role. You will be asked to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.
The Energy & COMAH team is part of the Energy and Manufacturing Industries Regulation of the Environmental & Business (E&B) Directorate. Our technical experts lead on the definition of standards for our sectors, providing strategic direction, guidance and training to deliver new duties, and environmental best practice.
Experience/Skills Required
