Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to develop and manage a Product Delivery team, working to optimize the delivery of our product and project portfolios in line with organizational priorities and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Head of Product, Head of Engineering, and Product Operations to ensure our agile delivery function has the necessary tools, processes, and ways of working to operate at a world-class level.
* Promote awareness of Product Delivery and the Agile Delivery Lead role as essential functions, raising the team's profile within the organization.
* Bridge the understanding between 'products' and 'projects', fostering appreciation of their similarities and differences across the company.
* Manage the Product Delivery team, ensuring effective resourcing with Agile Delivery Leads and supporting project management functions for successful portfolio delivery.
* Oversee governance around resource capacity and demand, identifying and managing pinch points, and contributing to prioritization decisions at the Product Board.
* Act as an individual contributor, participating in project governance and management activities across the portfolio.
* Define and own governance for resource allocation across Product, Technology, and Projects/Implementation.
* Establish effort estimates for maintaining ongoing operations and new initiatives, supporting budget planning and hiring strategies.
* Serve as the interface between the Product Board, governance structures, and functional leads regarding resource re-prioritization.
* Define and own project initiation governance, including budget, objectives, and implementation modes.
Other Responsibilities
* Develop measures for tracking work, ensuring clear articulation at project initiation, and adapt reporting methods as needed.
* Embed risk management into product and project delivery processes to enhance visibility and mitigate risks affecting ROI.
Required Knowledge & Experience
* Experience with the software development lifecycle in an Agile environment, including Behavior Driven Development.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Jira (including administration), and Confluence.
* Proven project management experience, especially with customer projects, and familiarity with Agile practices like Scrum.
* Industry knowledge in mutual funds and financial services is preferred.
* Understanding of the Product operating model, lifecycle management, and portfolio management is advantageous.
