Overview
Area Manager – Huws Gray - Scotland (Regional Role) - Inspire Teams. Drive Growth. Build What Matters. Be Part of Something Bigger at Huws Gray.
We’re looking for a practical, people-first Area Manager with a proven ability to take ownership of performance, and inspire teams to reach their full potential, to oversee a network of branches across Shetland, Orkney, Aberdeen, Banchory, Dundee, Broxburn Brick and Stone and Grangemouth.
Whether you're in the trade or simply love a good home improvement project, we’re the Huws Gray Group – home to a family of trusted brands including Huws Gray, Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI, and Anglia Tool Centre. Across the UK, our branches support local communities with everything they need for building, improving, and creating – we couldn’t do it without our people and that’s where you come in!
Responsibilities
* Leading and supporting your branch teams to drive sales, margin and exceptional service
* Building a positive, inclusive culture where every colleague feels empowered to contribute and grow
* Analysing business insights to guide planning and performance improvements
* Strengthening key supplier relationships to maximise their support in the delivery of our business objectives
* Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and colleague development
* Promoting a safe, customer-focused environment with high operational standards
What you’ll bring
You’ll need to know your stuff when it comes to the Builder’s Merchants world and be able to show how you’ve helped branches or regions grow—both in sales and profit. That said, we’re all about individuality too. We believe your personality and potential matter just as much as your experience. If you’ve got a sharp commercial mind and a knack for strategy, we’ll make sure you get the training and support to really shine.
What’s in it for you
We believe great work should be recognised and rewarded. Here’s what you can expect:
* 23 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays (31 days per year)
* Company car
* Company bonus scheme, based on performance
* Contributory pension and life assurance
* Discounts on high street retailers, supermarkets, restaurants, gyms and cinemas
* Attraction and travel discounts
* Training and development programmes to support your growth
We offer on-the-job training and opportunities to work towards recognised qualifications, including apprenticeships. At Huws Gray, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce makes us stronger, smarter and better at serving our customers.
We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to creating a respectful and inclusive workplace, whether you’re based in one of our branches, on the road or in one of our offices. If you need any adjustments to support you through the application or interview process, please let us know.
