Consultant Psychologist (Part-Time, 22.5 Hours)
Setting: UK Leading, 19-bed high-dependency recovery and rehabilitation hospital (adult male service)
We’re looking for a Consultant Psychologist to join a supportive and dedicated team within a specialist recovery and rehabilitation service. The hospital provides care for adult males with a range of mental health needs, offering a structured pathway that helps individuals move forward with confidence and build healthier, more fulfilling futures.
In this role, you’ll be part of a compassionate multidisciplinary team committed to personalised, evidence-based care. You’ll play a key part in each person’s recovery journey, assisting in assessments, contributing to care plans, and delivering meaningful therapeutic interventions.
What you’ll be doing
* Responding promptly to referrals and carrying out assessments to develop effective therapy plans.
* Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring all interventions align with the client’s needs and therapy plan.
* Managing an assigned caseload within agreed timescales, maintaining regular interaction with clients and colleagues.
* Supporting the development and implementation of personalised care plans.
* Keeping accurate, up-to-date records including case notes, reports, files and digital records.
* Sharing updates and collaborating with colleagues in regular MDT meetings.
* Providing psychotherapeutic guidance, offering leadership within the team, and assisting with the analysis of data for research and audit purposes.
What you’ll bring
Working in this environment is incredibly rewarding but can also be challenging, so resilience and a naturally empathetic approach are essential. No two days are the same, and your ability to support people through both progress and setbacks will make a real difference.
To be considered, you’ll need:
* A relevant Master’s degree and recognised post-graduate qualification.
* Accreditation with a professional body such as BABCP, BCP, BPS or an equivalent organisation.
* Demonstrable experience within the field of psychology.
* DBT training and experience in HR20 report writing (desirable but not essential).
