Lead BI Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead BI Developer to join our team. You will lead a team of BI developers, develop and implement BI solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into insightful reports to support decision-making.

* Data Integration & Management: Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for data processing and transformation.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor BI developers, ensuring best practices.
* Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
* Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
* Data Governance & Best Practices: Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
* Performance Optimization: Maintain system performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Training & Development: Provide training and growth opportunities for team members.
* Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and recommend new BI technologies and techniques.
* Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions.
What does it take?
If you’re ready to energize and lead in BI development, you’ll need:
* 5+ years in BI development, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
* Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SSRS, etc.
* Experience with cloud BI platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
* Strong SQL, DAX, Power Query skills.
* Experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and database design.
* Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
* Proven leadership and project management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
Desirable skills include programming with Python or R, Big Data technologies, BI certifications, and knowledge of data governance and security.
Working arrangements
We support flexible working. The role requires working from our Leicester office on a hybrid basis, with potential for remote work in the future.
