Job Summary
The Assistant 1st Team Sports Scientist will support the delivery of sports science services to Swansea City's first team, assisting with pitch and gym-based sessions, and supporting the physical preparation of players under the guidance of the Head of Performance and the Senior Sports Scientist.
* Manage daily sports science and strength & conditioning programs for all first team players.
* Collaborate with the sports science team to ensure high standards in all physical preparation and conditioning sessions.
* Maintain best-practice standards in sports science and strength & conditioning services.
* Assist with testing, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
* Support medical team with rehabilitation and return-to-play strategies.
* Assist with matchday conditioning sessions to maintain player fitness.
* Support nutritional initiatives under the club nutritionist's guidance.
* Manage sports science consumables stock and support student placements.
* Maintain accurate databases and produce timely reports.
* Coordinate with academy staff for player transitions between training groups.
* Participate in recovery sessions post-games and provide match-day support as needed.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree in Sports Science or related field
* Desirable: Postgraduate degree in Sports Science or related discipline
Experience:
* At least 1 year experience working in a professional football environment with a first team.
