Role Description
This is a day shift role working 12-hour shifts on a 4 on/4 off rotation.
Job Purpose: To maintain the site assets to achieve optimum operational efficiency, statutory and customer compliance whilst complying with all H&S requirements. This includes:
* Effective and efficient maintenance of the site’s assets from a mechanical, electrical or process perspective.
* Execute work schedule, PMs, breakdowns, capital and CI work streams.
* Help the site achieve optimal operational efficiency at the lowest cost through delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the Group Supply function: Safety, Cost, Delivery, Quality, People.
* Work with the site Engineering, Team, Senior Leadership Team, Group Engineering and Projects Team to support the delivery of an agreed manufacturing vision and strategy.
Responsibilities
* Ensure proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns to guarantee continuity of production and services.
* Carry out maintenance activities to maximise compliance to the production plan, minimising engineering downtime.
* Identify root causes, record actions, and update Planned Maintenance systems.
* Share knowledge within the team to increase department flexibility.
* Improve performance and efficiency of existing plant through continuous improvement techniques.
* Communicate effectively with all levels of colleagues and with clients, suppliers, contractors and customers outside the business.
Also required is maintaining product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by adhering to associated policies and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities
* Safety, Quality, Hygiene: Always consider safety for self and others; adhere to H&S policies, use Lockout/Tagout and Permit to Work systems; maintain GMP standards; ensure risk assessments are completed and actions taken; support a culture that reduces accidents and waste; reduce customer complaints through effective maintenance.
* Operations Management: Establish objectives with Area Coordinator; record work on PMs, breakdowns, repairs and modifications; take ownership to ensure follow-up and closure; assist with training and support other departments; identify personal training needs and plan with manager.
* Continuous Improvement: Promote 5S, GMP and other CI tools; review performance and implement improvement opportunities.
* Communication: Ensure clear verbal and written handovers; daily status updates with Engineering and Manufacturing teams; coordinate with Engineering Stores for spares.
Experience Required
Role Requirements:
* Completed recognised engineering apprenticeship, preferably multi-skilled.
* Experience in FMCG manufacturing.
* PC literate; experience with CMMS (preferably SAP).
* Experience in a regulated environment with Permit to Work and dynamic risk assessments.
* Knowledge of fault finding and root cause analysis to implement permanent fixes.
* Ability to read technical manuals and engineering drawings.
* Advanced diagnostic skills in mechanical, electrical, PLC and process areas.
