Electrical Engineering Specialist Full‑time role, 37.5 hours a week on a term‑time only basis HMS Sultan, Portsmouth
Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
Working as an Instructor in a team that delivers training across the Marine Engineering Electrical Training group, you will use your skills as coach and/or mentor to deliver successful Electrical Engineering training to the Royal Navy. No previous teaching experience required. This role is offered on a term‑time basis, working 45 weeks per year, with non‑working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro‑rated and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
What you'll be doing
* Delivering training modules within Electrical Marine Engineering to the Royal Navy
* Conducting both theory and practical training in Electrical Engineering
* Ensuring outstanding relationships with the customer and within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area
* Assisting in maintaining and updating training documentation and assessing student coursework to provide feedback on performance
* Utilising best practice across the establishment to inform and direct quality and improvement activities across RN training
* Responsible for the duty of care and progression of training during the delivery phase
What we're looking for
Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* Proven experience within Electrical/Engineering
* Proficiency in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
* Competent electrical practical/hand skills
Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications
* Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment
* Level 4 Teaching Qualification / DTC Defence Trainer Course or equivalent
