We currently have the following opportunity: Principal Teacher - PKC12650 £55,155 Portmoak Primary School, Kinnesswood, Kinross Portmoak Primary School is looking for an inspiring, ambitious and dynamic Principal Teacher to join our dedicated team. Our school is committed to providing a high standard of learning with a strong emphasis on raising attainment and supporting all learners to achieve. The school is located in the rural village of Kinnesswood, around 5 miles from Kinross, overlooking Loch Leven and situated at the bottom of Bishop Hill. Our school is nondenominational and caters for pupils at all seven primary stages, across 5 classes. Our vision of Portmoak LIFE focuses on Learning, Inclusion, Friendship, and the Environment, and this underpins all that we do in school. Our school is at the heart of a busy and thriving community and we enjoy long established links where children work with members of the community to undertake projects and benefit from rich learning experiences, We have extensive school grounds, with development of an activity area, a slide, a willow tunnel, painted playground games, a school pond, wooden wigwams, and pirate ship. We have a wildlife garden with a log pile, many bird feeders and a range of plants designed to attract nature’s visitors to our school grounds. We are committed to using the school grounds and surrounding area to enhance learning and teaching. As Principal Teacher of this well regarded and thriving school, you will be part of the school leadership team with responsibility for the development, delivery and monitoring of high-quality learning and teaching, which meets the needs of all learners. You will also be expected to lead quality assurance activities to plan, develop and monitor the continuous improvement of the school, in line with local and national objectives. Working in partnership with all stakeholders, you will take responsibility for contributing towards our inclusive learning environment to ensure every child and family feels valued. This post includes a class teaching commitment. Skills & Experience Required The successful candidate will have a Diploma/degree in Primary Education and GTC Scotland full registration. We are looking to appoint a motivated, dynamic and experienced individual with an excellent track record in primary teaching. The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge and experience of the whole primary curriculum, at all stages, and will confidently apply the principles of the curriculum within the classroom. The Principal teacher will have the ability to work effectively building relationships with partners, colleagues, parents, the wider community and other specialist agencies as appropriate. Ideally, the successful candidate will have had experience of leading initiatives and improvement activities. The ability to organise workload to meet deadlines is essential. You will be required to provide this check. GTCS registration is required. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of the above mentioned mandatory pre-employment checks (including references) and will also include eligibility to work in the UK, qualifications and fitness to undertake the post.
