Apprentice Technical Author - School leavers in engineering!
Location: Margate
Full-time | Apprenticeship | Based in R&D Team
Looking to kick-start a career in engineering and technology? This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience while learning from experienced engineers and technical specialists.
As an Apprentice Technical Author, you'll join our Research & Development team, helping to create, test and document the next generation of our products. You'll get involved in everything from writing product manuals and technical guides to working with engineers to make sure our designs are accurately documented and ready for manufacture.
What you'll be doing:
* Helping to keep our Product Data Management system organised and up to date.
* Working with engineers to document how our products are designed and built.
* Assisting with testing new products and recording the results.
* Writing clear and easy-to-follow user manuals and technical documentation.
* Communicating progress and sharing ideas with the team.
* Learning about new technologies and developing your skills as you go.
What we're looking for:
* GCSEs grade 4/5 or above in English, Maths and Science (A-levels in English or Maths are a bonus but not essential).
* Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
* An interest in engineering, technology and how things work.
* Willingness to learn and get involved in different parts of the process.
* Basic computer skills - familiarity with Microsoft Office is useful, and knowing Adobe Creator is a plus (but not a requirement).
* A team player who is happy to take direction but also share ideas.
This role is a great stepping stone for anyone interested in engineering, design or technical communication. You'll learn valuable skills, gain practical experience, and work towards a rewarding career in a growing sector.
