Operational Buyer – Clevedon (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £51,000 per year depending on experience
Location: Clevedon, UK (Hybrid – 2 days remote per week)
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:45pm | Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
About the Role:
We are recruiting a Senior Operational Buyer to join a busy and collaborative team. In this role, you will ensure a consistent and sustainable supply of raw materials to support production schedules, while developing operational buying capabilities through supplier management, process improvements, and cross-team collaboration. You will report directly to the Supply Chain Team Leader and play a key part in strengthening the department’s contribution to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage procurement of raw materials to ensure consistent supply aligned with production schedules.
2. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating terms and monitoring performance for quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
3. Collaborate with planning, production, and commercial teams to align purchasing with business goals.
4. Support the development and improvement of operational buying processes.
5. Mentor and support Buyers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
6. Generate and analyse Supply Chain KPIs to drive continuous improvement in service levels and inventory performance.

7. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
8. Excellent planning, organisational, and time management abilities.
9. Analytical thinker with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
10. Strong influencing, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
11. Flexibility to operate in a complex environment.
12. Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers.
13. Highly proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
14. Commercial awareness to balance technical and business decisions effectively.
