Overview
We are currently seeking an Assistant Small Works Project Manager in Bristol. Working with NHS clients, the successful candidate will assist the project team to deliver small hard facilities/construction works projects, including client variations, small projects, and lifecycle works, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Rydon Maintenance Ltd is part of the Rydon Group, providing hard facilities management and property maintenance services mainly in healthcare environments, including hospitals and rehabilitation units. We currently maintain over 300 buildings for 20 Trusts.
Job Purpose
This role supports the NHS with small hard facilities/construction projects, such as floor covering changes, re-decoration, power installs, roofing, boiler updates, and refurbishments. Based in Bristol, you will assist with negotiated works, serve as the key contact for clients, and maintain strong relationships with clients, site management, and subcontractors.
Reporting to the Project Manager, your responsibilities include:
* Assisting with client requests and quotations
* Preparing tender documentation
* Creating and issuing subcontractor orders
* Overseeing instructed works, updating work programs, health and safety RAMS, placing orders, and reporting
* Supporting design and site meetings
* Maintaining Lifecycle schedules and obtaining O&M information
* Updating business systems for accurate reporting
* Ensuring quality standards and legal compliance
* Delivering services within budget and contractual requirements

Experience Required
Some experience in facilities operations or project management, budgeting, planning, and construction techniques. Knowledge of Building Regulations is essential. Relevant qualifications like IOSHH Managing Safely, CSCS Skill Card, SMSTS are desirable; a degree or HNC in a related discipline is preferred. A full UK driving license is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.
