What difference will you make?

The Director of Operations will play a vital role in driving positive change for vulnerable individuals and the wider community. By overseeing the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred support, you will directly improve lives—empowering individuals, promoting inclusion, and enhancing wellbeing.

Managing and supporting our team of Community Outreach Worker volunteers, you will ensure that outreach services are delivered with compassion, consistency, and professionalism. Your leadership will help build a strong, motivated volunteer team focused on making a real difference.

Beyond service delivery, you will shape the future of Diver’s Community CIC through a key governance role—contributing to strategic planning, fundraising, compliance, and building partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders. Your work will strengthen our organisational foundations, ensuring sustainability and growth.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, you will support high‑level decision‑making, helping ensure that the organisation meets its legal obligations and maintains the highest standards of practice.


What are we looking for?


Essential Skills and Experience

* Leadership & Management – Proven ability to lead and support teams, ideally with experience managing volunteers or staff in community, health, or social care settings.
* Community Engagement – Experience delivering or overseeing outreach or support services for vulnerable people, with an understanding of their complex needs.
* Governance & Compliance – Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, risk management, and compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
* Strategic Planning – Ability to contribute to organisational strategy, monitor progress, and adapt plans to meet changing needs and priorities.
* Partnership Building – Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including funders, statutory bodies, and local organisations, to develop collaborative initiatives.
* Fundraising & Resource Development – Understanding of fundraising approaches, bid writing, or income generation to support service delivery.
* Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide high‑quality support to vulnerable individuals, ensuring safety and person‑centred care aligned with our mission.
* Lead, manage, and develop a team of Community Outreach Worker volunteers to deliver effective outreach services.
* Support governance and ensure compliance in key areas, including fundraising, regulations, and working closely with external partners.
* Collaborate with the CEO to drive strategic decisions, ensuring the organisation meets its legal obligations and regulatory standards.
