White & Company's Forres branch is looking for a Moving Company Operations Manager to oversee daily logistical operations, crew scheduling, and fleet maintenance to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality relocations.
This role focuses on managing staff, optimising routes, maintaining safety standards, controlling costs, and resolving customer issues to maximise satisfaction and company profitability.
Key responsibilities and duties
* Logistics & Scheduling:
Direct daily operations, including dispatching crews, assigning vehicles, and planning routes for residential and commercial moves.
* Staff Management:
Hire, train, motivate, and supervise movers, drivers, and warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to company procedures and safety policies.
* Compliance & Safety:
Maintain compliance with transportation regulations (e.g., DOT), manage vehicle inspections, and oversee insurance documentation.
* Customer Satisfaction:
Handle complex customer service issues, confirm and resolve claims regarding damaged items.
* Inventory & Equipment:
Manage warehouse operations, equipment maintenance, and packing supplies.
* Budget & Performance:
Monitor operational costs, manage payroll, and track KPIs to improve efficiency and profitability.
Requirements and qualifications
* Experience in the moving, logistics, or transportation industry.
* Proven leadership and staff management skills.
* Proficiency in scheduling software, GPS tracking, and office IT skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
