System Administrator | Server Hosting Infrastructure | Mission-Critical SaaS
Our client is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to join their expanding organization that powers critical applications in healthcare, finance, and government sectors. The company is headquartered in the UK & USA, with worldwide offices, and their software is used daily by millions across over 100 countries. They employ over 200 staff in the UK and 1,800 globally.
The role is based in their new, prestigious office near Windsor train station, with a working pattern of 3 days in the office per week, fostering a vibrant company culture.
You will be involved in designing server layouts, ensuring space, power, and cooling requirements are met, and collaborating with engineering teams to optimize performance, efficiency, and operability of hosted solutions.
As a senior Linux System Administrator, your responsibilities include supporting all hosted services, resolving incidents promptly, and deploying necessary updates and changes.
Core technical environment:
* Linux deployment and management experience with RHEL
* Puppet automation experience; familiarity with Ansible or Chef is a plus
* VMware 6 deployment and management experience with hundreds of virtual servers
Working in a mission-critical production environment requires you to have experience with live systems, troubleshooting proactively, and ensuring high availability without server downtime.
Responsibilities:
* Lead deployment of applications and changes, with thorough documentation and monitoring
* Manage and maintain hosted solutions, including firewalls, switches, servers, and storage
* Provide technical support across hosted services
* Provision and deploy server, network, and hosting infrastructure
* Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain pre-operational sign-offs
