Overview

The role will be to provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently. Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.

What we'll need you to bring

* SVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus at least 2 years experience in healthcare administration or at least 3 years experience in a secretarial role
* Understanding of medical terminology
* Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
* Evidence of strong communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
* Excellent organisational skills
* Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems
* Audio typing skills

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.


It would be great if you also have

* Educated to standard grade level
* Experience in multi-tasking
* Experience of working as part of a team and on own initiative
* Health Records/Patient Administration knowledge through experience and /or Qualification at SVQ level 4 ECDL or equivalent
* Knowledge of working practices within health records department gained through demonstrable experience or qualification at SVQ4, ECDL or equivalent
* Knowledge of patient/clinical management systems
* Knowledge of confidentiality, data protection and relevant legislation
* Knowledge and understanding of statistical information
* Knowledge and understanding of personnel procedures
* Understanding of health record protocols on confidentiality and data protection
* Computer literate and keyboard skills
* Multi skilled
* Effective communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills both written and verbal
* Effective team building skills
* Oral and written communication with effective
* Customer Care skills


Contract type

Fixed Term or Secondment for 9 months


Full time

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term post for 9 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.


Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Emergency and Medical within University Hospital Wishaw.
