Come and join our amazing team in ED at RLI!
An opportunity has arisen for additional Clinical Support Workers to join the Emergency Department Team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals, ideally with acute care experience, but this is not essential as training and support will be provided.
We have developed and grown significantly over the last few years, introducing streaming and rapid assessment at the front door for a better patient experience and journey, which you will be involved in.
We also cover the Minor Injury treatment, which is open from 8 am to 8 pm.
A shift system is in operation.
Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the RN.
Record patient information, provide basic patient care, and document that care in the patient records.
Responsibilities include clinical observations, minor injury treatments, and plaster casts.
Our services are operated from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as community health care premises including Millom Hospital, GP Practices, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides general hospital services along with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three hospitals provide planned care services, including outpatient clinics, diagnostics, therapies, day cases, and inpatient surgery. Additionally, community facilities across Morecambe Bay offer outreach services and diagnostics.
