Job Title: Banking & Finance Paralegal
Location: Sheffield
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banking & Finance Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a solid background in banking and finance law to work alongside senior solicitors on a wide range of complex financial transactions and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
* General matter support and Practice Evolve (our Practice Management System) filing to support the team with administrative tasks.
* Companies House Registrations.
* Assisting with the preparation and drafting of legal documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and other transactional documents.
* Support lawyers on key projects and tasks.
* Write first drafts, proofread and amend legal agreements, advice notes, letters and other documents.
* Conducting legal research and due diligence to support various banking transactions, including loan agreements, corporate finance, and real estate finance.
* Managing and organizing client files, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and accurately filed.
* Assisting with the transactional closing process from the initial filing to closing.
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Paralegal within a banking and finance legal environment, ideally within a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team.
* Strong understanding of English banking and finance law, including LMA (Loan Market Association) standards.
* Demonstrable experience supporting complex bilateral and syndicated loan transactions.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Law degree or equivalent legal qualification preferred.
* LPC/SQE or equivalent is advantageous but not essential.
