ABC Teachers are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and engaging Youth Worker to join a dedicated team within a Secondary School setting supporting children with ASC.
As a Youth Worker you will play a key role in building trusted relationships, promoting positive well-being, and supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
About the role:
Provide support to young people with special educational needs, both in small group settings and on a 1:1 basis.
Work under the direction of the class teacher while using your understanding of individual students to help prevent and resolve conflicts.
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people, offering steady guidance and encouragement.
Collaborate closely with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to deliver personalised support.
Assist pupils in managing their behaviour, developing self-confidence, and strengthening their resilience.
Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and prioritise the welfare of all pupils at all times.

About you:
A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications and more is desired but not required.
Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds
Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and making a meaningful contribution.
Confident in using initiative and taking a proactive approach to challenges.
Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are a suitable qualification for working with children and experience working with special education needs.
