We are looking for experienced Team Managers for our Children’s Assessment and Intervention Service in Devon.
About The Role
Assessment and Intervention is a busy, fast-paced service where our Team Managers lead and support their teams in the development of in-depth assessments for children and young people with a complexity of needs. They have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of children and families throughout the county of Devon.
The main focus of all our Team Managers is to work collaboratively with our skilled and experienced social workers, focussing on improving outcomes for some of our most vulnerable individuals, achieving positive and sustainable results.
Our Team Managers have a direct responsibility to lead and manage the performance of their team. By promoting good practice and with a passion for relationship-based social work, we are looking for a leader who will champion continual professional and personal growth within the team.
Assessment & Intervention covers a large geographical area and we have multiple teams operating in each locality. Vacancies have arisen to work alongside existing Team Managers in the following localities, please state your preference on the application form:
1. Exeter – County hall, Exeter
2. South – Follaton House, Totnes
3. North – Taw View, Barnstaple
4. Mid & East – Phoneix House, Tiverton
This role is currently eligible for the £2000 annual retention payment.
This role requires a DBS Disclosure.
Skills and Experience
This is a very rewarding role, which can be challenging and reactive at times so it is essential to be able to demonstrate the following skills:
5. Substantial post-qualifying experience of working within social care, including working in a multi-agency environment
6. Strong communication skills to encourage trusting and supportive relationships with colleagues, advocating the importance of teamwork and in achieving positive outcomes
7. Effective management skills to lead, develop and support individuals, promoting an environment of continuous improvement where everyone can achieve their potential
8. The ability to build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals, leading to successful outcomes for children
9. A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
10. Satisfactory completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
11. A high-level of written and verbal communication skills*
12. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work
13. Exceptional recording and planning skills
14. Ability to make difficult decisions
15. A valid UK driving licence and access to a car*
