About the Role:
Part of a local team assisting the Commercial & General Manager with commercial control & reporting on high standard Commercial activities to Housing properties, delivering best in class commercial acumen, customer service, and satisfying all safety, quality, and cost control standards.
* Ensuring accuracy of work order pricing by reviewing and quality checking work orders, including sub-contractor data submissions, to enable the progression of completed jobs to invoicing, maximizing cash collection targets and minimizing unbilled work.
* Liaising with sub-contractors to resolve queries or disputes related to completion and reporting discrepancies or trends in pricing to the Commercial Manager to ensure correct codes are claimed, within the job specification, and all costs are recoverable without delaying payment.
* Monitoring overheads & cost control of the contract, including vehicles, equipment, tools, stock, and petty cash.
* Providing coding advice to the Planning Team when required to ensure jobs are raised or varied correctly.
* Working with team members to ensure a commercially competent service is delivered to service users and clients, supporting high satisfaction levels with performance delivery according to agreed standards and targets.
* Ensuring the customer experience is central to all activities by maintaining a professional manner when communicating with stakeholders, including appearance, company ID, and adherence to Health & Safety requirements, while keeping company assets in good condition.
* Providing assistance with other tasks that may arise commercially.
* Attending informal and formal company & client meetings and training sessions as required.
Role Criteria:
* Experience in a commercial environment.
* Experience within the Social Housing Sector.
* Experience of working to deadlines in a busy office environment.
* IT Literate.
* Good time management, planning & organizational skills.
* Proficient with computerised systems.
* Good written, verbal, questioning & interpersonal skills.
All roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK. Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points.
All roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before employment begins.
