An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Pricing Analyst to join the Private Care division at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This new role offers the chance to shape pricing strategy and contribute to the financial growth and sustainability of one of the UK’s most innovative NHS trusts.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality costing and pricing analysis, support contract negotiations with private medical insurers, and develop profitability models. You will maintain accurate billing systems, conduct benchmarking reviews, and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders to support decision-making and financial planning.
We are seeking an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to present complex financial data clearly. You will work with colleagues across finance, business development and clinical teams, as well as with external partners including insurers and consultants. Excellent communication and relationship management skills are essential.

Main duties of the job
1. To support the provision of a high quality and comprehensive costing and pricing service within a large Private Patient Unit, offering timely appropriate advice and recommendations on costing methodology to the Private Patient division.
2. To support annual contract negotiations with insurers and to support the development of complex costing and profitability models.
3. To collect, process and manage a range of data and information used in the costing and profitability models.
4. To support the maintenance of the private care billing system, ensuring chargemasters are accurate for billing all private activities.
5. To calculate prices for inclusion within contracts where appropriate and undertake periodic benchmarking reviews across the private healthcare care market.
6. To ensure that a customer focused service of the highest possible standard is delivered to the Trust.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
7. Educated to Degree Level.
8. Actively pursuing a CCAB qualification.
9. Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience in data analysis.
Desirable criteria
10. CCAB qualified (or equivalent).

11. Previous costing and pricing experience.
12. Worked within the NHS or similar organisation for at least 2 years.
13. Knowledge of commercial finance with an appreciation of costing and pricing.
14. Experience of translating complex data from various systems into a financial model.
15. Experience of computerised systems and software including spread-sheets, databases, word processors and email.
Desirable criteria
16. Experience of working in a complex private healthcare setting and/or within health system insurance.
17. Experience of working within an commercial costing or pricing function for at least 2 years.
18. Experience of Compucare or similar private care ERP/billing software.
19. Experience in effectively managing difficult conversations and / or challenging colleagues.

20. Commercial acumen – proven experience in tracking, analysing, and optimising key performance metrics.
21. Strong analytical skills – ability to distil complex data into clear, actionable insights.
22. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills including the ability to explain complex financial information and issues to financial and nonfinancial colleagues.
Desirable criteria
23. Experience working in a similar role in private healthcare or private healthcare insurance markets.
24. Proficient in Compucare or other private billing software, and PowerPoint.
25. Good knowledge of database systems (including MS SQL) with the ability to expertly handle highly complex data from multiple sources.
