The Yard Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and organisation of our warehouse operations. This position involves a variety of tasks including loading and unloading materials, managing equipment, and ensuring that the yard is kept in optimal condition. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse settings and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
* Load and unload materials from lorries using forklifts and other equipment
* Manage inventory through a warehouse management system to ensure accurate stock levels
* Perform basic repairs on equipment to maintain functionality
* Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols
* Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatch of goods
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area to promote a safe working environment
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify any maintenance needs
Skills
* Experience with warehouse management systems for tracking inventory
* Strong skills in materials handling, ensuring safe transport of goods
* Forklift operation experience is essential for this role, however, full training will be given
* Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable
