Offer description

Job overview LPFT recognises that a significant proportion of psychology graduates want to develop a career in health and care, but can find it hard to find a way in. Owing to the intersectional nature of disadvantage and an unpaid volunteer culture, these have contributed to disproportionate disadvantage for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic psychology graduates, graduates who are socio-economically disadvantaged and psychology graduates who have caring responsibilities. To try and begin addressing these issues additional funding has been secured by LPFT from NHS England to develop an access scheme offering paid opportunities for aspiring clinical psychologists to gain clinical experience. We are now offering 2 opportunities of paid experience as an Assistant Psychologist for psychology graduates who otherwise would be disadvantaged as they are less able to volunteer their time. The 2 posts will be fixed-term for 9 months and part-time (3 days and 2.5 days), but we may be able to alter these hours to suit caring or other work responsibilities. Post 1: 22.5 hours per week Post: 2 19 hours per week. The posts may be anywhere in the county including Lincoln, Sleaford, Boston and Grantham. You will be line managed and clinically supervised by HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologists. Please note that applications may close before the deadline, subject to volume of applications. Due to the UKVI immigration changes, we are no longer able to offer sponsorship for this role. Please provide details of the visa type and expiry date in your application. Failure to provide the required information will result in your application being rejected. Advert These posts are suitable for recent psychology graduates and those with limited experience. We would like to especially encourage those who have not had opportunities for voluntary experience due to caring responsibilities, inequality or disadvantage to apply. Applicants are applying for generic assistant psychologist posts that may be in any one of a number of our services including adult inpatient, adult community, physical health, neuropsychology, learning disabilities and CAMHS. When applying think about the generic skills and knowledge you have gained from your degree and life experiences rather than any particular service that may offer you a post if successful. Applications are invited from kind, thoughtful candidates with a “can do” attitude to deliver the Trusts Vision and Values and help to improve our patient experience. Working for our organisation Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in the county of Lincolnshire. Employing around 2,900 staff, and serving a population of over 768,400, our people lie at the heart of everything we do. You could be part of a Trust rated by staff as one of the best mental health and learning disability trusts in England. We firmly believe the key to high quality care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of ‘outstanding’ for well-led and ‘good’ overall. In the most recent National NHS Staff Survey, our staff rated us as the number one trust nationally for staff morale and one of the top scoring NHS Trusts in the Midlands for being compassionate and inclusive.
