Position overview
The Intelligent Medical Imaging Research lab at the Department of Radiological Sciences in the School of Medicine, UCI, is seeking a Postdoctoral candidate in deep learning in Medical Image Processing. The lab focuses on motion-robust magnetic resonance imaging using pulse sequence design, image reconstruction, and real-time image processing for brain, body, and fetal applications.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will conduct experiments with MRI data for motion-robust image reconstruction, quality assessment, image harmonization, and real-time image processing. The work includes working with various MRI techniques such as diffusion MRI, functional MRI, and quantitative MRI, along with algorithm and software development, and preparing papers, presentations, and reports.
Basic Qualifications: PhD in electrical or biomedical engineering, medical physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field, with experience in MRI, image processing, or medical imaging, and deep learning.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated deep knowledge and experience in magnetic resonance imaging, programming skills in C++/Python/CUDA for deep learning, development of new deep learning methods for MRI, experience in MRI image reconstruction, motion and distortion correction in MRI, a track record of first-author publications in top peer-reviewed journals, and excellent scientific writing and oral communication skills.
Location: The lab is located on the Irvine Campus of UCI, in Orange County, known for its pleasant climate and scenic Pacific Ocean locales. The area offers excellent recreational opportunities.
